Hello!

I am a Dutch-born, Swedish-based researcher. My interests and passion lay in learning together for a more just and flourishing world for everyone.
I am an Associate Senior Lecturer at Malmö University at the School of Arts and Communication. My focus area is Design for Sustainability and Social Change. I am part of the Malmö Centre for Imagining and Co-Creating Futures (CICF), The Collaborative Future Making platform, and the K3 Olfactory Research and Design Group (ODR. I use participatory design and research-through-design approaches to respectfully bring together different knowledge systems and worldviews.
In my current research project, Indigenous Climate Observatories – Local knowledge for Local action, I collaborates with Indigenous communities in Eswatini, Lesotho and Borneo (Malaysia) to facilitate discussions around climate change and biodiversity loss through community-specific indicators of change. I also worked at the Energy Design studio of RISE Interactive (Sweden), where I focused on supporting democratic debate on climate action through stimulating climate goal/science literacy in (young)citizens. I did this through different approaches such as participatory theatre and speculative design. I have a PhD in Participatory Design with Indigenous communities from Northumbria University (UK) and a Master’s and Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from the University of Technology Eindhoven, Netherlands
